Axiom Update
OK. So, I decide to buy an Axiom 61. I ring up the on-line retailer that has the lowest price and offers an ASCAP discount. They tell me the item is on backorder for up to 4 weeks. So, I decided not to place the order and go find it elsewhere. I figured that it might be worth another 50 bucks to get it right away. Well, it turns out that other vendors have it on backorder, too. 
I then reasoned that, since I have to wait, I may as well order from the original vendor. I would still have to wait, but I’d be saving money. I returned to the first vendor the following day, and they have raised their price by $50!. I snoozed and lost. There I go again, experiencing the expense of trying to be frugal.
Maybe this is a sign that I should hold out for an 88-key controler with comparable features. Those trigger pads would sure help with drum programming.
